Choosing their apps paid for by mum or dad
They click the screen and it all appears
How technology has moved throughout the years
But the question is, are children really that clever?
A previous generation unable to do it but will endeavour
More children starting school from behind expectation
Blaming teachers again is a tired accusation
Generations before their minds would do the thinking
Now the computers do it all and their minds are sinking
A Pen, some paper and your brain is all you really need
I can’t to it, pass me my phone the children simply plead
We’ve created a generation of accepting a lazy mind
When, as a generation, we are falling behind
Now in schools we have the latest gadget toy
Is this the governments and manufactures ploy?
I think it’s time to save our poor little nation
And throw away the gadgets without hesitation
Of course they have a place in our modern society
We should embrace technology and its variety
I’m not being negative about the next generation
But I fear their minds will soon be in extinction
They rely too much on a technological device
And will not listen to this simple advice
Expand your minds with learning how to write
Get a lamp next to your bed to read a book at night
Visit new places and explore their culture with care
Put down your ipads go on I dare!
