Mandela

A sad day that we’ll remember for a long time

A true hero who had the highest mountain to climb

Not wanting to give up and strive for anti-apartheid

This was the day the world stood still and cried

Suffering racial abuse throughout his years

Not wanting the next generation to have these fears

He fought for his freedom in a non violent way

Didn’t show hatred towards the people who put him away

He inspired so many to live a peaceful life

He approached the people when the country was in strife

Demanding that they follow his lead

Instead of wanting their own personal greed

Always wanting to forgive but not forgetting the past

Hoping that his reconciliation legacy will continue to last

A human being who saw the world in a different view

Trying to make the globe a better place for me and you

So many causes he helped along his remarkable ride

Leaving behind a country that now beams with pride

He spoke so gently but everyone listened with ease

Let’s carry on his legacy; I’m urging you, please
