Pace of Life

We try to keep up with everyone in a very materialistic way

Listening to others but not hearing what they say

Your mind distracted by so many other things going on

And of course you know you can’t take it when you’re gone

24 hour shopping means families working different hours

Not seeing each other like ships passing through London Bridge Towers

Weekends now another two days that are part of the working week

Spending time together is what families really seek

Rushing around from the school drop off, bank and gym

No time to spare you’ve reached your brim

You constantly say to people ‘Sorry I can’t stop’

Picking up your mum to help with her weekly shop

So when do you relax and take some much needed reflection

Instead of working all the hours for a small cash injection

Try and leave a bit early and take things a little slower

Phone a friend for an overdue chat on the blower

Life’s clock is ticking and you can’t turn back the hands of time

Not spending it with loved ones is surely an unforgiving crime

So take a look at your pace of life and think about what means more

Money and materials or spending it with people whom you adore
